More controversy in Senegal as Chief claims Teranga Lions doctor is a gynecologist
Senegal Football Federation President Abdoulaye Fall has sparked controversy by revealing that the national team’s long-serving chief doctor, Dr. Fedior, is actually a gynecologist rather than a sports medicine specialist.
The Senegal Football Federation (FSF) has been plunged into controversy following a startling revelation by its president, Abdoulaye Fall.
Speaking at a press conference reviewing the national team’s recent World Cup campaign, Fall claimed he recently discovered that the Lions of Teranga’s longtime chief medical officer, Dr. Fedior, is actually a gynecologist and obstetrician by trade.
“I only discovered this recently. Dr. Fedior is a gynecologist.”
According to Fall, this academic specialization meant the team doctor lacked the proper credentials required to oversee high-performance athletes.
While Dr. Fedior has previously defended his decades-long sports medicine career, Fall asserted that several national team players lacked full confidence in the medical setup, prompting the federation to seek structural changes.
