Mudryk Cleared: FA Lifts Ban That Cost Him Nearly Two Seasons

Mykhailo Mudryk’s anti-doping suspension has been lifted, with the FA confirming the case was resolved on July 30 with WADA’s agreement.

The Chelsea winger, who hasn’t played since November 2024, is set to join the squad in Hong Kong for pre-season.

The resolution stems from a change to a WADA technical document on reporting thresholds, not retroactive, but the FA says the concentration found in Mudryk’s original sample wouldn’t trigger a violation under today’s standard.

That led the FA and Mudryk to jointly resolve his CAS appeal, with Mudryk accepting the violation and a ban equal to time already served.

Mudryk originally tested positive for meldonium in October 2024 and was hit with a four-year ban in January 2026 before appealing.

He signed for Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 for £62m on a contract to 2031, and now heads into pre-season after nearly two years out, with match sharpness the main question left to answer.
