Omar Marmoush set for Spurs medical after £60m agreement with Man City
Tottenham have agreed a deal to bring Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on an initial loan with a £60 million obligation to buy, subject to his medical.
Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to sign Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, with the Egypt international expected to complete a medical before finalising his move to north London.
The deal will initially see Marmoush join Spurs on loan before a £60 million obligation to buy is activated, with the package reportedly consisting of £50 million in guaranteed payments and another £10 million in potential bonuses.
The transfer represents another major step in Tottenham’s aggressive rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi, coming just a day after the club completed the signing of Brazilian winger Sávio from City.
The two deals underline Spurs’ determination to reshape their attacking options after a difficult 2025-26 campaign and a 3-0 defeat to Brentford on the opening weekend.
Marmoush, who joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025, struggled to establish himself as a regular starter despite producing important moments in front of goal.
His versatility should appeal to De Zerbi, as the 27-year-old can operate through the middle or from wider attacking positions, giving Tottenham another option in the final third.
The move also brings Marmoush together with Sávio again after both players spent the previous season at Manchester City.
Tottenham’s summer recruitment has already been substantial, with Sávio’s arrival alone taking their spending beyond £300 million, while the addition of Marmoush further demonstrates the scale of the club’s squad overhaul.
City, meanwhile, are continuing to reshape their squad under Enzo Maresca, with the departures of Sávio and Marmoush freeing space and generating significant transfer income.
Marmoush’s medical is now the key remaining step before the agreement can be formally completed, with Spurs hoping his arrival can provide greater attacking depth and help them recover from their disappointing start to the campaign.
