Raheem Sterling has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, possessing nitrous oxide and failing to provide a specimen following a Lamborghini crash in Hampshire.
Raheem Sterling has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after crashing his Lamborghini Urus in Hampshire earlier this year, adding another difficult chapter to the former England winger’s recent struggles.
The 31-year-old appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and admitted driving dangerously across the M25, M3, A327 and Minley Road before the vehicle crashed on 28 May.
He also pleaded guilty to possessing six canisters of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation and failing to provide a specimen for analysis. The incident happened on the M3 southbound near the Minley Interchange, with police confirming that no other vehicles were involved and nobody was injured.
Sterling’s driving reportedly raised concerns before the crash, with witnesses describing the Lamborghini moving unpredictably between lanes. The court appearance comes at a particularly uncertain point in the player’s career.
Sterling, who has won 82 England caps and scored 20 international goals, is currently without a club after spending the latter part of last season with Feyenoord. His career has included successful spells at Liverpool and Manchester City, where he won four Premier League titles, followed by a high-profile move to Chelsea in 2022.
He later spent a season on loan at Arsenal before joining Feyenoord on a short-term deal. The latest legal setback now leaves Sterling facing further court proceedings, with his next appearance scheduled for 25 November. He has also been disqualified from driving in the interim.
