Spurs seal agreement for Iliman Ndiaye as Richarlison set for emotional Everton return
Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement in principle to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, while Richarlison is closing in on a return to his former club in a separate transfer.
Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement in principle to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, with Richarlison simultaneously moving closer to an emotional return to Goodison Park as the Premier League transfer window enters its final stages.
The Senegal international is expected to complete his move to north London once personal terms are agreed and he passes his medical, according to reports published on Sunday.
Ndiaye has become an important attacking figure for Everton since joining from Marseille in 2024, contributing 17 goals and four assists in 73 appearances for the club and starting the opening three matches of the current campaign.
His departure represents a significant change for Everton, who have relied heavily on his creativity and ability to beat defenders in the final third.
Tottenham turned their attention to Ndiaye after their pursuit of Cody Gakpo failed, with Manchester City now pushing to sign the Liverpool forward.
Richarlison, meanwhile, is poised to return to Everton four years after leaving for Tottenham in a transfer worth up to £60 million.
The Brazilian endured an inconsistent spell in north London, with injuries limiting his impact, although he finished last season as Spurs’ leading Premier League scorer with 11 goals.
His departure became increasingly likely after manager Roberto De Zerbi confirmed that the forward had asked to leave and was omitted from Tottenham’s squad for the defeat by Newcastle United.
Despite the timing of the two transfers, they are understood to be separate transactions rather than a formal player-swap agreement.
Both deals remain subject to personal terms and medical examinations, but their completion would give Tottenham another versatile attacking option while allowing Richarlison to return to the club where he produced some of the strongest football of his career.
