Tijjani Reijnders set for Saudi switch after one year at Manchester City
Tijjani Reijnders has agreed to join Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah from Manchester City in a €61 million transfer, with AC Milan set to receive €14 million under a sell-on-related clause.
Tijjani Reijnders is set to leave Manchester City for Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah after approving a €61 million transfer, bringing his brief spell at the Etihad Stadium to an end after just one season.
According to reports, the Netherlands international has given the green light to the move after Al Qadsiah reached an agreement with Manchester City, with the necessary documentation now being completed before the transfer is formally concluded.
Reijnders is expected to travel to Saudi Arabia for his medical and to complete the final stages of the deal. The 28-year-old midfielder joined City from AC Milan in June 2025 for an initial €55 million, signing a contract that was due to run until 2030.
He made a strong start to life in England but subsequently found his opportunities more limited, particularly during the latter part of the campaign.
Reports indicate that Manchester City accepted Al Qadsiah’s €61 million offer, while the structure of Reijnders’ original transfer to England means Milan will also benefit financially from his departure.
The Italian club negotiated several performance-related bonuses when selling the midfielder to City, including a clause requiring City to pay Milan the equivalent of those bonuses if Reijnders was sold before 2030.
That provision could result in Milan receiving €14 million from the latest transfer. Reijnders’ imminent departure represents a rapid change in fortunes for a player who established himself as one of Milan’s key midfielders before earning a move to the Premier League.
His switch to Al Qadsiah will now take him from English football to Saudi Arabia, where he is expected to become another high-profile addition to the growing Saudi Pro League.
