Nigerian defender Benjamin Fredrick has been promoted to Brentford’s first-team squad ahead of the 2026-27 season after signing a new four-year contract with the Premier League club.
According to Brentford, the 21-year-old described the milestone as a proud moment for himself and his family, while thanking the club for helping him settle after arriving in England.
Fredrick admitted he was initially nervous and had to adapt to a different football environment, saying Brentford’s support played a key role in his development.
The centre-back joined the Bees in 2023, impressed with the club’s B team, and returned from a loan spell and injury setback to earn his place in the senior squad for the new campaign.
