BREAKING: Barcelona agrees €10m deal for Gabriel Jesus with Arsenal
Gabriel Jesus is reportedly on the verge of leaving Arsenal for Barcelona in a permanent deal worth €10 million plus add-ons, bringing an increasingly difficult spell in north London to a potential end.
Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, with the Brazilian forward expected to undergo a medical on Monday before completing a permanent move to Camp Nou.
The proposed transfer is understood to be worth an initial €10 million package with additional add-ons, while Arsenal have authorised Jesus to travel for the medical as the clubs move towards finalising the deal.
The move would bring an end to the 29-year-old’s four-year spell in north London, which began in July 2022 when Arsenal signed him from Manchester City for a reported £45 million.
Jesus arrived with a strong reputation after winning four Premier League titles at City and quickly made an impact under Mikel Arteta, scoring twice and providing two assists against Leicester City in only his second Arsenal appearance.
He finished his first campaign with 11 Premier League goals and was widely regarded as one of the attacking figures behind Arsenal’s impressive title challenge.
However, injuries gradually disrupted his progress, including a serious knee injury suffered during the 2022 World Cup that forced him to spend several months on the sidelines.
His subsequent seasons were less productive, with his role increasingly affected by competition for places and the emergence of other attacking options.
Across his Arsenal career, Jesus made 122 appearances in all competitions and scored 31 goals, including 20 Premier League goals, according to available career statistics.
His 2023-24 campaign produced only four league goals, while he managed three in the Premier League during 2024-25. In 2025-26, he scored twice in 13 league appearances, although injuries and limited starts restricted his opportunities.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta recently acknowledged that Jesus’ future was among the squad decisions the club needed to resolve as they looked to reduce an increasingly crowded group of senior players.
A move to Barcelona would therefore represent a fresh chapter for Jesus, offering him the opportunity to revive his career in Spain while Arsenal recoup at least part of their original investment.
The transfer remains subject to the successful completion of his medical and final formalities, but the reported agreement indicates that the Brazilian’s Arsenal chapter is now approaching its conclusion.
